Terms of Service

By accessing or using Heritage Recipe, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our service.

Heritage Recipe provides a service that transforms family recipes into beautiful, keepsake-quality designs. Our service includes:

• Recipe text extraction from images using artificial intelligence
• AI-generated keepsake designs in various artistic styles
• High-resolution digital downloads
• Shareable recipe web pages hosted on our platform

To use our service, you must sign in with a Google account. By signing in, you:

• Confirm you are at least 13 years old (or have parental consent)
• Agree to provide accurate account information through Google OAuth
• Are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

Your Ownership: You retain full ownership of the recipe content, images, and photographs you upload to our service. Your grandmother's recipes remain yours.

License to Us: By uploading content, you grant Heritage Recipe a limited, non-exclusive license to:

• Process your content to extract recipe text
• Generate keepsake designs based on your recipes
• Store your content for delivery of our services
• Host and display your recipe pages publicly (if you choose to make them public)

We will not sell, share, or use your recipe content for any purpose other than providing our service to you.

The keepsake designs we create for you are generated using artificial intelligence. Upon purchase:

• You receive a personal, non-exclusive license to use the generated designs
• You may print, display, and share your designs for personal, non-commercial use
• You may give printed designs as gifts to family and friends
• You may not resell or commercially distribute the generated designs

When you purchase a Heritage Recipe package, your recipe page will be hosted on our platform at no additional cost for as long as Heritage Recipe remains in operation.

What this means:

• Your recipe page will have a permanent public URL you can share with family
• We do not charge subscription or renewal fees to keep your page online
• Your page may be indexed by search engines so others can discover your family recipes

What we cannot guarantee:

• Hosting in perpetuity—while we intend to operate indefinitely, business circumstances may change
• If Heritage Recipe ever discontinues service, we will provide at least 90 days notice and a downloadable archive of your content

What you always keep:

• Your digital download files (print-ready artwork) are yours forever, regardless of our service status
• We include a backup file of your hosted page with every purchase

Immediate Delivery: Digital files (PNG, PDF) are delivered immediately upon purchase and are yours to keep forever.

Personal Use: These files are for personal, non-commercial use unless otherwise licensed. You may print them at home, at a local print shop, or through any printing service of your choice.

Your Responsibility: You are responsible for backing up your own downloaded files. While we maintain copies on our servers and you can re-download from your account, we recommend keeping your own backups.

Backup Included: Each purchase includes a backup export of your hosted recipe page content.

One-Time Purchase: Heritage Recipe is a one-time purchase—there are no subscription or renewal fees. Hosting of your recipe pages is included at no additional ongoing cost.

Pricing: All prices are displayed in USD and include applicable taxes where required. We reserve the right to modify pricing for future purchases, but existing purchases will be honored at their original terms.

Digital Products: Because each keepsake is custom-created specifically for you using AI, digital downloads are non-refundable once generated. However, if you experience technical issues, please contact us and we'll make it right.

Credits: Purchased credits do not expire and are non-refundable but may be used for any recipe at any time.

We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue features of our service with reasonable notice. This includes:

• Adding new features or design styles
• Modifying existing features to improve the service
• Discontinuing features that are no longer viable
• Changing page URLs if we rebrand or restructure (we will implement redirects where possible)

Optional Features: We may introduce optional premium features in the future, but core functionality—including digital downloads and recipe page hosting—remains included with your purchase.

You agree not to:

• Upload content you do not have rights to
• Upload illegal, offensive, or inappropriate content
• Attempt to circumvent our payment systems or pricing
• Use our service to generate content for commercial resale
• Interfere with or disrupt our service or servers
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access our service
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation

Our Property: The Heritage Recipe name, logo, website design, software, and underlying technology are our property and protected by intellectual property laws.

AI-Generated Content: Our design styles and artistic directions are proprietary. While you own your recipe content and receive a license to the generated designs, the underlying AI models and style definitions remain our intellectual property.

Our service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

• AI text extraction may not be 100% accurate for all handwriting
• Generated designs are unique and may vary in artistic interpretation
• Print colors may vary slightly from digital previews when using third-party print services
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to hosted recipe pages

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Heritage Recipe and its owners, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our service.

Specifically, we are not liable for:

• Data loss—you should keep your downloaded backup files
• Third-party service outages (hosting providers, CDNs, payment processors)
• Inability to access hosted recipe pages due to circumstances beyond our control

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in prohibited activities. Upon termination:

• Your access to the service will be revoked
• Unused credits may be forfeited
• We may delete your uploaded content after a reasonable period
• Previously purchased and downloaded files remain yours to keep
• Your hosted recipe pages may be taken offline

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our service shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
